To lot of people, vacation is a time to get away from the everyday hustle and stress of life. Some people like to travel to see their family and some like to simply relax. But others want to experience an entirely different world. They want a place to see Mother Nature in her most relaxed state, or a place where gravity is offset by water. This place is a divers dream, the ocean.
Before getting into the ocean, the correct dive gear is a must. After the basics, like an air tank, there are a few necessities. Let’s start with safety gear. Depending on your location in the world and the time of year, you are going to need a good wetsuit. The waters in the Caribbean are usually warm but as you dive into deeper waters, the water temperature can drop at a fast rate. A good wetsuit will help regulate your body temperature. Next, the “divers down” float and flag are a must. Having speeding boats on the surface of the water is an accident waiting to happen. Another important piece of gear would be gauges. Gauges show the pressure and amount of remaining oxygen in your tank. This can save you from an unfortunate tragedy. The three pieces of safety gear should be standard on each dive.
After safety is taken care of, your accessories are the next in line. Accessories are things like fins, dive gloves, cameras, dive lights, masks and snorkels. These are only a few of the many accessories you can have on a dive. Find out which you really need and choose your accessories accordingly.
