Scuba diving can be a great sport to get involved in. There are certain things that you need to do as you progress so that you can go to the more advanced diving sites. Keeping a dive log is one of them. There are several electronic dive logs available now that you can download for free from the internet, but nothing really beats the pen and paper log.
There are several reasons that you should keep a dive log. One is that you can keep track of your progress as you become more experienced. The more that you dive, the more relaxed you become. You can spend more time underwater as you use your air more conservatively. This is something that you can keep track of in your dive log.
Many resorts will not take you to the more advanced diving areas unless you can provide proof of your experience. This is something that you can use your diving log for. It can also be something that you can use when you return home to show your friends details of your diving adventures.
You can also keep track of your dives for when you return to that area. You can keep track of weights needed, currents in the area, and depths and water temperatures without having to waste a whole day of your trip trying to reinvent the wheel. In short, the diving log can be an excellent tool for keeping track of your diving adventures.
