A coral reef is a diver’s paradise. When you are diving you will find a wide range of colors from red, orange, gold, brown, and yellow. There are also many different varieties of corals that are beautiful to look at.
The coral reef will have a multitude of fish and sea creatures swimming in them. You will be able to dive down and take pictures of the sea animals and the coral. There are shipwrecks that a diver can explore while enjoying the experience of the coral reef. Some coral reefs have caves near them that you can swim through and see even more beautiful color and different types of sea life. Some of the coral have grown so large that they have formed tunnels. It is a sight to see, and is there for those who love to dive.
A coral reef is a living thing. It is made of small animals that are called polyps. They use the calcium in the seawater to make a skeleton for themselves. When you are diving if you touch them or step on them they will die. You should always take care not to bother them. When diving from a ship you should be careful not to drop an anchor on the coral reef as it will destroy it. The coral reef is not only beautiful, it is important to our environment.
The coral reef keeps the ocean from washing our beaches away. It also helps keep the ocean life in order. The smaller fish live in the coral, and the larger fish and sharks swim around it. Sting Rays bury themselves in the sand of the coral reef looking for food. There are many reasons why it is important for us to protect the coral reefs that we have.
