Back From Belize

Hello again, we just returned from a week in Belize aboard the Aggressor III. met at the airport by a crew member and whisked away to dockside. There we were joined by thirteen other divers- four from Kansas, four from Holland, two from Germany, three from California. The wife and I hail from Virginia. The weather the first day and a half was reasonably nice but then a front came through from the northwest bring wind and rain, cutting ambient light below. This compounded with my camera malfunctioning has left us with short videos in bad light mostly, though we do have some viewable footage. There was no shortage of eels, lobster, barracuda, angel fish and other assorted denizens of the deep. Alas we did not make the famous Blue Hole dive due to weather and wind conditions, the wife and I have been on a previous  trip but the Dutch were quite disappointed. We did have one unusual occurrence when a pin in the  mooring anchor broke and the ship began to drift with divers in the water, including the captain. All were recovered without incident as the crew handled the situation with their usual aplomb, the first mate being British- stiff upper lip and all.

The boat was well maintained the crew attentive and the food very good, all in all a very pleasant trip, weather aside.Upon regaining the dock Friday night was spent aboard with dinner served on land at , The Smokey Mermaid. The scheduled departure from the boat was eight A.M. which left us three hours to bumble about mostly spent in the lobby of the Raddisson, and then again transported to the airport. I would suggest if this type travel is fairly regular for you that you invest  in an airline club membership. The difference in a two to three hour lay over is like night and day as opposed to setting in a restaurant or gate area.
