Sealions in the Galapagos Islands

Hello, and welcome!! Just a quick revisit to look at a video of Dianne playing with a pair of sea lions. This was our check out dive and we had been told there were sea lions around the area but we did not expect to encounter them right away. This was our first dive with new wet suits and other safety gear we had been issued by Aggressor that we were not used to. As we swam with the critters we did not realize we were drifting closer into shore realized what the problem was so we headed back out toward the boat and they went on their way. The new gear and extra activity playing with the sea lions left us lower on air than we woud have liked but that is what a checkout dive is all about and apparently closer to their nest- needless to say we found the sea lions becoming more aggressive and even threatening. I finally realized what the problem was and we moved back out toward the boat and they went on their way. We ended up a little shorter on gas between the extra exertion and new gear than we are used to but that is what a checkout dive is for.
